school again
the holiday was once more way to short and now we are starting into a new year...but again all the same school stuff. I don'T know why but every year school is becoming more and more boring and exhausting as well. The only good stuff ...meeting friends and talking during the lessons (*smiling*)...So then..have fun or better make fun ?!... KISSES Michaela

News from the Bible Zoo in Jerusalem

Gabi is going on excursion

10 days after his birth following artificial insemination baby-elephant Gabi went on his first excursion on the grounds of the Bible-zoo of Jerusalem. He was called Gabi in memory of Gabi Askar, the veterinarian of the zoo, who had initiated the insemination project and who was killed last year in a car accident.

At his birth Gabi's weight was 89 kilos; he is putting on one kilo each day. His mom Tamar gives him 15 liters of milk each day and will probably feed him for two years. As Gabi refuses to step on the scales, his weight could not be checked again since his birth. Since the installation of webcams in the elephants' house, which allowed to watch his birth more than 300.000 people have visited the zoo's internet-site http://www.jerusalemzoo.org.il
